MHSOBHC Pub Crawl: 14th May 2010
So, with a few days to go before the Pub Crawl (of the century) some of you more organised and concerned people are getting very worried that I haven't come up with a Sacred List of Pubs for us to venture to and indeed venture from. So, may I present to you, today's top 10 list with Daaaaaavid Letterman?
No? Well, fair enough. Instead I shall present to you the list of THREE count them THREE pubs that made the grade in a quick game of Tim and Warren think about Pubs in and around Brunswick Street.
To whit,
1) The Napier Hotel
2) The Standard (sure, lets call it a hotel, or perhaps a Public Bar)
3) The Builders Arms Hotel
And here is a map for people who are so inclined:
I believe dinner is a wise start to this sort of carry on, and conveniently The Napier Hotel is well equipped to provide us with said start. So, dinner it is, from lets say 6:30 THIS FRIDAY!
Yes lets.
From there I suspect we'll move on to The Standard at lets say eight-ish and then I don't know, on to the Builders Arms at nine thirty? That's 90 minutes at each venue and by around eleven o'clock any kind of plan I can come up with will be well and truly pointless and we'll no doubt en mass storm some poor beatnik house party above a boarded up shop on Smith Street. Or at least, that's what Warren and Motey seem to be alluding to.
Have at it!
Tim.
In briefs: Pub Crawl, in two weeks, 14th of May. Come along.
In trousers:
Why hello there.
It's that time again! What time? PUB CRAWL time. Whose house? RUN'S
HOUSE. And by "that time" I mean, it will be in two week on Friday the
14th of May. And by "again" I'm talking mainly to the Woman en mass
and Lachie, and Rusty. All other males are considered massive failures
of pub crawling, including me.
It's on a Friday (Friday the 14th) so that on the Saturday we can all
be hungover, and on the Sunday we can all be AWESOME. Because what's
that? Why yes it is our first home round of the season where we are
actually at home. GENIUS.
Now, no doubt some of you are looking for details, and are finding
this email sadly lacking (with the notable exception of my repetitive
(yet varied) notations of the date (14/5/10 (it's a Friday))) (three
brackets! Dear GOD.). And the truth is, that yes, this email is coming
up short on the specifics front. So, I'll make some declarative
judgements as follows: It will be a pub crawl, it will be either in:
the CBD, the Richmond, or in the Carlton/Fitzroy. It will have more
details along presently. Stay tuned.
Additionally: It will involve going to pubs and there will be some
drinking. But if that's not your cup of tea (heh), or you're my 14
year old goalie, then drinking is not mandatory. OK, my goalie (who is
awesome), can't even get into a pub without his mum can he? So, poor
example, but others who CAN get into pubs should come along, even if
drinking isn't their thing, at the very least you can mock Mote as he
tries to out drink the smallest girl we can find.
But I digress, there's going to be a pub crawl, it should be good, come along.
So, mark the date (Friday, April 14th MMX)
Tim.
PS. There will be another (oh yes!) social event in the coming weeks
involving activities not focused on drinking, so if that's more your
thing, (or you’re my 14 year old goalie), all hope of partying like a
rock star with the men and woman of MHSOBHC is not lost.
