ANZAC Day Hockey & BBQ

ANZAC Day (Hockey and BBQ) – Sunday April 25 – is regarded by many as Australia's most important national occasion.

It marks the anniversary of the first major military action fought by Australian and New Zealand forces in the First World War. It now more broadly commemorates all those who died and served in military operations for their countries.

Hockey Victoria asks that players pay tribute on this day by observing a minute’s silence prior to the start of their games.

In addition, clubs are encouraged to invite those associated with their local RSL to Sunday's games.

MHSOB Hockey Club will be running a BBQ for the duration of matches played this Sunday for all players, families and friends who come down to watch. We will be kicking off the day with the State League boys at 1pm, then cheering on the Pennant players and Women's team who cap off the afternoon. Snags will all the trimmings will be $2!
