Junior Hockey

Season 2015

The Club is extremely excited by the growth and enthusiasm in our junior section! We are always welcoming new players and their families down, whether early in pre-season or later in the year. Please contact our Junior Coordinator and head on down!

Club Family and Registration Day will be held on Saturday 28th of March. Be sure to bring a stick and have a hit, enjoy a BBQ and socialise with the other families around the Club.

The U10/U12 competitions are to be played on Saturday mornings and U18/U16/U14 competitions on Friday evenings.

All MHSOB HC U10 teams will be entered in a new, exciting quarter field competition. From a player development perspective, the Club is extremely satisfied with this new offering from Hockey Victoria. As a bonus to parents, it means that every match (every week!) will be played at Melbourne High School.

Players are expected to be at training 15min prior to scheduled start and 30min prior on gameday.

No Shinguards - No Mouthguards - No Hockey - No Questions!

The Central Region

MHSOB HC is fortunate to be in the Central Metropolitan Region, and therefore has access to some of the fantastic development opportunities made available to players, coaches, umpires and parents by the Central Flames. If you have not heard of these, have a browse of their website and check out some of their activities on Facebook

In 2015 Central Flames will be offering (amongst other things):

  • A Girls Development College specifically targetting player development for girls aged 9-14 years
  • Junior State Championships carnival teams
  • Zone Challenge carnival teams
  • Umpire Development opportunities
